Wantage Community Hospital is set to benefit from almost £1 million in funding, secured through a partnership between Wantage Town Council, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, the local NHS, Oxfordshire County Council, and Vale of White Horse District Council. This investment will refurbish the hospital’s ground floor, expanding both physical and mental healthcare services to better serve the community.
The majority of the funding comes from the District Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Fund, with additional support from a legacy donation to Oxford Health Charity. The project will enhance outpatient services, which have been successfully piloted over the past two years, and introduce new clinics once refurbishment is completed in late 2025.
A public meeting to discuss the project details will be held on 27 February 2025 at Silver Band Hall. The hospital’s midwife-led maternity service on the first floor will continue as usual.
