ORDER 2024
WHEREAS the Vale of White Horse District Council is satisfied that, on the occasion of the Ray’s Carnival the following roads named below are likely to be thronged or liable to be obstructed:
• Market Place to The Cloisters.
• Alfred Street.
• Newbury Street from Market Place to its junction with Church Street.
• Wallingford Street from Market Place to its junction with Little Lane.
• Mill Street from Market Place to its junction with Limborough Close.
• Grove Street from Market Place to cul de sac.
• Stirlings Road, from its junction with Grove Street to junction by library.
NOW THEREFORE the Vale of White Horse District Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, hereby makes the following Order:-
(1) Save as provided in Article 2 of this Order, between the hours of 07:00 and 20:00 on 09 June 2024 the streets as detailed above shall be closed to all vehicular traffic.
(2) The restriction referred to in Article 1 of this Order shall not apply to emergency service vehicles and shall be subject to the discretion of a Police Officer in uniform.
(3) This Order may be cited as “The Vale of White Horse District Council (Temporary Closure of Roads, Wantage No.21) Order 2024”.

Notice is hereby given that Vale of White Horse District Council has made an Order under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, the effect of which is, on the occasion of the Ray’s Carnival on 09 June 2024 between 07:00 and 20:00 to close the roads below to all vehicular traffic:
• Market Place to The Cloisters.
• Alfred Street.
• Newbury Street from Market Place to its junction with Church Street.
• Wallingford Street from Market Place to its junction with Little Lane.
• Mill Street from Market Place to its junction with Limborough Close.
• Grove Street from Market Place to cul de sac.

This temporary restriction does not apply to emergency service vehicles and is subject to the discretion of a Police Officer in uniform.
