The Ray Collins Charitable Trust will be hosting The Wantage Community Festival of Fun on Sunday 8 June in the market place. To facilitate this and to ensure public safety, the Vale of White Horse District Council has issued a road closure. Details of the event can be found here.
Notice is hereby given that Vale of White Horse District Council has made an Order under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, the effect of which is, on the occasion of the Ray’s Carnival on 08 June 2025 between 07:00 and 20:00 to close the roads below to all vehicular traffic:
- Market Place to The Cloisters.
- Alfred Street.
- Newbury Street from Market Place to its junction with Church Street.
- Wallingford Street from Market Place to its junction with Little Lane.
- Mill Street from Market Place to its junction with Limborough Close.
- Grove Street from Market Place to cul de sac.
- Stirlings Road from its junction with Grove Street to junction by library.
This temporary restriction does not apply to emergency service vehicles and is subject to the discretion of a Police Officer in uniform.
The bus stop in Market Place will be suspended during this road closure. The nearest bus stop will be Seesen Way. Taxis will be relocated to Wallingford Street.
