Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022, and in addition to the physical Books of Condolences which will be around the Town, the Town Council has created a Book of Condolences to be made up from your comments to this post.
All comments will be moderated so please do not expect them to be published immediately. Those that are published will be collated for printing later as a Book which will be held in the Vale and Downland Museum. Your email address will not be published but your name, should you wish to leave it, will be marked against your note of condolences.

You led by example, a dignified monarch loved around the world. As a child I waved a flag at one of your visits and you were always my Queen. Rest in peace.
Thank you for your service to the country and during your time, you make Hong Kong very beautiful (before 1997).

Your dignity, service and dedication to this country and to the Commonwealth is unrivaled and an example to us all in these turbulent times. Condolences to your family for their loss, but you are also part of the wider family of all of your subjects and we feel your passing deeply. I was privileged to have met you on more than one occasion and will treasure those memories. Rest in Peace.
